My iTunes library on my iMac running OSX 10.8.2 is at ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/. Why is mine different from yours?

After checking another Mac, it seems like the difference in the music location depends on updating to iTunes 11 and OS X 10.8 rather than buying new. Could be different though.

You are correct. My MacBook Air, purchased in July, is the same as what you have shown.

The point of using iTunes, among other things, is that you never need to browse your music files in Finder or any other file manager. If you want to do anything with your music files, select them in iTunes and drag them anywhere (even your email client). Then do whatever you want with them…

Select a tune in your library and hit Command + Shift + R

Don’t you think that it is easier, faster, simpler?

The current version of iTunes makes it much harder to find songs within iTunes than past versions.

The songs often are not there.
Much better to check in the iTunes Preferences where they are:
    iTunes/Preferences/Advanced “iTunes media folder location”.

I agree with the fact that Kc stressed upon that you do not a file manager or a finder.
